While I agree that stress cannot be completely eliminated, and that coping is important...

I always tell people to start a stress program by eliminating as many stressors from their life as possible, before moving to the management and coping phases. 

A lot of times, there are aspects to our lives that we can change to eliminate many, though not all, of our stressors.
